General Information:

Silent Line offers various sound deadening products pending on the type of structure such as:

• Steel structure
• Aluminium structure
• Composite structure

Steel structures:

For steel structures we strongly recommend a sandwich sound deadening system which contains a two-component sound deadening (product A and B) along with perforated steel counter plates (perforation 10%). Application ratio 4 | 1 | 1.

Common areas for application:
• Hull plating above the propulsion propellers,
• Engine and gearbox foundation,
• Hull structure forward of the engine room such as Guest and VIP areas,
• Bow thruster area,
• Engine room casings, application on accommodation side,
• Forward engine room bulkhead, application on accommodation side,
• Deck structure above engine room, application inside the accommodation.

Aluminium structures:

For aluminium structures lightweight SINGLE sound deadening systems can be used or constrained layer adhesive tiles, see product information below.

Common areas for application:
• Hull plating above the propulsion propellers,

• Engine room casings, application on accommodation side,

Composite or Wooden structures:

For composite structures lightweight SINGLE sound deadening systems can be used or constrained layer adhesive tiles, see product information below.

Heavy Mass Layer

For wooden structures, as wood is an excellent dampening material, we use mostly rubber sheets as shown below at the hull plating above the propulsion propellers, bow thruster area and deck structure above the engine room.
