Most well-known products for Structural Fire Protection (S.F.P) are:

Our target is to use these “single noncombustible products” and combine them with Innovative noise related products keeping in mind classification requirements | rules.
Accommodation (Interior) areas
On the larger Yachts (>50 meter, > 500 GT) strict regulations are required related to fire protection. This includes Flooring | Partition walls | Ceiling and more.
Floating floors
The image above indicates a so called commercial floating floor system based on a non-combustible layer (spring) with various options as top layers. This type of floating floor has a natural frequency of 100 Hz and above which by far too stiff in order to create a sufficient amount of isolation | damping versus important sound sources such as propulsion propellers.
The above shown image indicates an IMO approved floating floor concept in which we can “control” the natural frequency by means of the IMO approved elastomer.
This concept, with great success, is often used onboard the nowadays Super Yachts.

This panel with an RW value of 34 dB is made up of calcium silicate core, with an aluminum plate on both sides, glued with a sound-insulating adhesive.
The panels have a groove on all sides and are connected by means of an aluminum spring and fixed with steel screws with countersunk head.

The floating floor can optionally be equipped with an integrated and IMO B-15 approved inspection hatch. This hatch can be used by means of specially developed stainless steel profiles that fit into the standard panel grooves and based on the standard panel width of the floor. The maximum length of the inspection hatch is 520 x 590 mm.
The panels are supplied with sturdy corner protection and the panels are pre-drilled and grooved all around. After installing the panels and the aluminum strip, the spring connection must be drilled (diameter 4.5 mm). After this, the panels can be joined with the supplied thread-forming screws M5 x 12 mm).
It is recommended to protect the floor with hardboard panels after installation to prevent damage to the panels.
Partition walls
B- and C Class partition walls must be installed in accordance with classification. The maritime market offers multiple options and solutions however do they meet the requirements related to noise and vibration control.Cabin-to-cabin is an important topic and often mentioned in the nowadays builder’s specifications. Cabin-to-cabin noise is a value given in Rw or STC. It is important that the partition walls do meet these numbers and even more important that they are selected in accordance with the background noise levels in each cabin or room.
Nowadays we can go as low as 30 dB(A) or less inside accommodation areas while at anchor with generator set and AC running. Having a normal conversation in the adjacent room or area end up with 65 dB(A), audio noise will exceed 70 – 75 dB(A) which means that the partition wall(s) must be comply with Rw > 45 dB.
Not many suppliers can meet these requirements as we need de-coupled partition walls.
In an early design stage Silent Line is looking into these topics as this will affect the Interior Design. Cabin-to cabin noise and Room Acoustics are important noise studies which in most cases are overseen ending up with serious complains from the Owner | Guest and Crew.
