The passion started in early 1980 when Sjaak van Cappellen (founder of Silent Line) together with his father Willem van Cappellen worked for FeadShip. At that time noise and vibration control onboard luxury Yachts was unknown and a lot of research had to be done along with designing computer simulation models for noise and vibration calculations.

In the years that followed we performed many comprehensive noise and vibration measurements and compared the predicted computer results with the measured data. We fine-tuned our computer simulation models and soon after we became a well-known and leading company in the field of noise and vibration control.

This approach, nowadays, is still the key to success that is used within Silent Line to offer our clients tailor made noise and vibration related engineering services.

Over the years, starting in 2001 when Silent Line was founded, we received multiple international awards for the quietest yacht ever build.
