Comfort and Silence by means of noise and vibration | shock control is a must onboard the nowadays Navy Vessels. Silent Line has the Knowhow – Experience and Capabilities offering GUARANTEED low noise and vibration levels in accordance with classification.

Comprehensive Engineering:

Silent Line Engineering Department, based on 35 years of experience in the field of noise and vibration control, offers Innovative Engineering based solutions and services such as:

  • Vibration | Shock Control : Finite Element Analysis and Shock (Impact) analysis
  • Noise Control : Statistical Energy Analysis (S.E.A)
  • Propulsion related studies :

Innovative Solutions, in order to achieve Comfort and Silence, starts and the main sound sources such as main diesel engines, generator sets, propulsion propellers, exhaust systems and the ship structure.

Shock Analysis:

Silent Line is using the latest software for Finite Element and Shock Analysis.
Detailed analysis on the ship structure is carried out along with special elastic mounting systems in order to absorb the shock pulse(s) and keep the systems operational.

Noise control:

Silent Line has the knowhow – experience and computer simulation models in order to make noise predictions for each cabin | room in order to meet the below shown noise targets.

Noise and vibration levels emitted by main and secondary machinery is studied (including elastic mountings systems) and noise transmission through the ship structure is analyzed.

Proper insulation materials (comfort | thermal | fire protection and sound deadening) are added into our computer models in order to predict the noise levels in each area corrected by room acoustics.

The shown “commercial” floating floor is often used however we prefer to use an alternative IMO approved floating floor concept (more lightweight) in order to control the natural frequencies and damping characteristics of the floor which is extremely important in order to meet the noise and vibration targets.

Achieving low noise levels at transit means that sound sources other than main machinery becomes dominant. One of these sound sources is air conditioning (HVAC).

Silent Line, multiple Award winner for most quiet Yachts, has innovative engineering-based solutions to achieve low noise levels by air conditioning (HVAC) systems

Noise control related to exhaust systems is extremely important in order to achieve and meet Comfort and Silence on outer deck areas.

This includes the latest technologies related to Soot and Nox reduction. This technology is integrated in state of the art Silencers (mufflers) as shown above.
